Slowing down for Autumn

Fall & then Winter are a time to slow down. It's what we need.

It’s time to slow down folks.

Autumn is very much here. The plants are slowing down. The animals are hibernating. The geese & snow birds are heading south for the winter.

It’s natural to slow down now.

It’s needed.

We shouldn’t be grinding away on the next product, release, or milestone 24/7/365.

Give yourself permission to slow down.

The trick is, you need to slow everything down for this to work.

Work less, but also buy less.

Worry less, but also hurry less.

Be content with enough, and you’ll find slowing down to be natural.

We can reclaim the lost art of slowing down for the Autumn and Winter.

This is a season to read more books, take slow hikes, and think about the changing colors around us and enjoy nature’s spectacle.

Who or what is pushing you, keeping you from slowing down?

Push back a little, encourage them to slow down. They probably need it.

We all need it.

Rest your mind as the year winds down.

Think about making the Holidays simple. Just schedule some family meals and some experiences together. Try cutting out the gift exchange entirely. People don’t need more stuff, they need time together.

Give yourself a simple and free holiday season.

Let people know you’re downsizing and slowing down. No gifts please, just time spent together making good food and taking it slow.

Try to be a calming water for others during nature’s season of slowness.

Don’t succumb to the pressure for hustle, bustle, consumerism, and all the junk they try to sell you during the Holidays. Let this year be a turning point.

Help others understand they can slow down too.

If they do, wonderful! Take a slow walk together.

If they don’t, that’s ok. Slow down for you.
